HIVE VPN for Linux

These build instructions are for RedHat 7.3. It's what this has been tested on. While it's the only system we have available for testing and as such the only thing we support, Cisco claims this works out of the box on at RedHat 6.2, RedHat 7.x and SuSE.

Please note that to be able to download the HVE VPN client, you need to connect from a official HVE registered IP address. The HVE VPN client is simply a rebranded Cisco VPN client (original tar bundled with HVE.pcf and repackaged as bzip2), so if you have problems you might take a peek around the net and look for help with the Cisco VPN client.

That's it. VPN is now installed. To connect the VPN, open a shell window and type:
vpnclient connect HVE
You will be asked for your username and password, and once authenticated any messages pending will be displayed. You will stay connected until you break (Ctrl-C) the vpnclient process. Note that vpnclient completely overrides your default network access; you will not be able to reach ANYTHING (including your local network) -- everything goes through the VPN connection.
